RNs Assess, observe, and speak to patients. They keep track on the details and symptoms of patient medical history and current condition. They also prepare patients for exams and treatment and monitor them for side effects and reactions after administering medications and treatments
Registered Nurse Job Description
- Examine patients to determine their health needs and problems.
- Execute physician orders, administer treatments, start IVs, and interpret special tests.
- Provide direct care to patients who are injured, disabled, ill, or recovering.
- Review and maintain medical records
- Implement and develop nursing care plans
- Educate patients and family members about disease prevention and health maintenance
- Request and assess diagnostic tests to evaluate the conditions and needs of patients.
- Oversee the work of licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and assistants.
- Inform patients about their medical conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- Decontaminate instruments and prepare rooms and medical equipment.
- Provide emotional and psychological support
